World's Most Expensive Lizard

Despite their fearsome countenances, most lizards pose no threat to humans and most know at least one person who keeps a lizard or snake as a pet and some even use wall-crawling lizards like geckos as insect control. Of course, the most expensive lizard in the world is somewhat more exotic than any house gecko.

The pricey reptile was a leucistic Nile monitor offered by Reptile Haven around 2003-2004.

The Nile monitor is, as its name suggests, native to Africa. They’re not particularly suited to being pets(What The HeLL!!), as they can grow to 9 feet in length, with sharp teeth and claws and an aggressive temperament. To put it simply, these things can take on freakin’ crocodiles and win.(这东西赢得了鳄鱼~有没有哦!)

Leucism is a condition similar to albinism but, unlike albinism, it affects all pigmentation rather than just melanin. Also unlike albinos, leucistic creatures will have normally colored eyes.

The most expensive lizard was offered for $1 million.
